Problem description: I have a 20,000 word document and the last lines of paragraphs are become distorted and are not assessable. Steps to reproduce: 1. None. It happens automatically. 2. .... 3. .... Current behavior: Regardless of the length of the last line of paragraph, the height of the line is cut in half. The letters are also cut in half. The cursor also skips over the line and cannot be placed on it. Expected behavior: The last line of paragraphs should be no different that the before it (base of the paragraph) and the lines after it (beginning of new paragraphs) Steps to clear: Cycling the view menu option like "show hidden paragraphs" corrects that line back to normal. However, it is only temporary and the problem with all last lines in paragraphs will revert again after a short time. Platform (if different from the browser): Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1
Hi, thank you for using LibreOffice, Please attach a text document which shows the described behavior on your LO install. And a screen copy of what you see on your screen. What is your version of MS-Windows? Best regards. JBF
Created attachment 55934 [details] pic of writer window with two paragraph lines distorted Provided is an pic of problem. The bug existed in the 3.3 and 3.4 version. But also exists in the 3.5 rc version, which is shown in the pic. At the time of posting the bug, the issue wasn't present. Thus no pic could be attached. However, the problem has reappeared, as expected and a screen shot is attached for your review. The attached pic shows two lines of the end of two paragraphs. The lines are distorted and the cursor cannot be placed on it. However, all the paragraphs to the 20,000 word document are affected at this time. The bug can be temporarily resolved by cycling an option like file menu>view>hidden paragraph. At which time the entire document resets back to normal. Subsequently, I will continue my work with writing the document and the issue will happen again after a short while. The current os is Win7 64bit laptop, 2 gig ram.

However, i hope you will forgive me if i don't provide one because it is a copy of a novel i am working on. So it has to be maintain confidential. But if i can provide any additional information, i will be happy to provide any for you. thanks again. ben. ps: Because his has been a long going problem, I believe that i have thoroughly reviewed, tweaked and tested settings pertaining to the page, via File Menu > Format > page "and" File Menu > Format > paragraph On 1/21/2012 4:16 PM, bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org wrote: > https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45051 > > Jean-Baptiste Faure<jbf.faure@orange.fr> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEEDINFO > CC| |jbf.faure@orange.fr > Ever Confirmed|0 |1 > > --- Comment #1 from Jean-Baptiste Faure<jbf.faure@orange.fr> 2012-01-21 14:16:30 PST --- > Hi, thank you for using LibreOffice, > > Please attach a text document which shows the described behavior on your LO > install. hello again jean, I didn't mention this as a bug. However, it might be considered as one. If you look at the pic i uploaded, you will find in the status bar at the bottom of the Writer's window citing 1 of 2 pages. However, the document actually has approximately 90 pages. This bug is easier to disregard by me since it doesn't interfere with my writing in the main window. Just some FYI, if you wanted to update my posting. But I suspect that this may have already been reported as a bug. thanks again for your feedback and help. ben. Thank you for the picture, but if we are not able to play with a file which has this problem, it is not possible to solve it. So I suggest you to do what follows: 1/ make a copy of your document : menu File -> Save As... and choose another name like "bugdoc_fdo45051.odt". 2/ in this copy, remove all the text (ctrl+A then press delete key; it is important to remove only text and to keep the formatting) and type some dummy text like "lorem ipsum". You may want use the autotext DT (dummy text) in order to introduce such kind of text. Type DT then press F3 key. 3/ If you observe the same behavior as in your document, then save the file again and attach it to this bug report. Best regards. JBF
Hi Ben, You may want to trust someone here and post the document, so that we can test. Thanks - Cor
thanks for your private mail Ben. We'll leave it as is then. One last thought that comes to my mind: maybe an enter half way the document might help (in case the text is one large (too larege) paragrapgh).
