Pressing the Shift+F4 keys whilst selecting a cell containing a cell reference should cycle the cell reference between the four combinations of relative and absolute reference. If the worksheet syntax is set to 'Calc A1' or 'Excel A1' the references cycle correctly between relative and absolute, whereas in 'Excel R1C1' syntax the reference doesn't change. To reproduce the fault, set the syntax to 'Excel R1C1' from Tools/Options/LibreOffice Calc/Formula/Formula Option tab, Syntax and select 'Excel R1C1'. Save. Select a cell containing a cell reference and press Shift+F4 to cycle the reference between relative and absolute reference. This bug has been in LibreOffice since Open Office. I am running LibreOffice 3.4.4 OOO340m1 (Build:402) on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot.
Checked with: LO 3.5.5.3 Build ID: own W7 debug build Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit Could not reproduce. I am getting following combinations using Shift+F4 when in Excel R1C1 mode: - start as =R4C3 - =R4C[2] - =R[3]C3 - =R[3]C[2] All above the same as in Excel 2010.
I note you're using Windows. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 x64 and have found the same problem on every other version of Ubuntu I have used - 10.10, 11.04, 11.10 x32 and x64 on four or five different machines. Could the OS make the difference?
Marking as WORKSFORME. I also can cycle through fine running Bodhi Linux (based on Ubuntu 12.04) LibO: 3.6.3.2 If this is still a problem for you running a more current version of LibreOffice please reopen as UNCONFIRMED and put your LibO version. I'll get a third QA tester to get involved. Thanks for your patience and helping us out
LibreOffice Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2)) I checked again and the problem is gone now, so looks like at some point it was fixed.
