Hardware: Dell XPS M1350 Laptop, Windows 7 Home premium SP1, Processor Intel Core2 Duo T5550, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT. I have a presentation prepared on 24th Jan 2012 on the previous version of Impress to the current v3.5.1.2 (sorry I can't get back to the previous version to find its version code). The presentation worked perfectly before this new version but now will not function. Symptoms as follows: 1. odp file opens satisfactorily with Impress. 2. Pressing F5 starts the show but no pictures are visible. Sometimes text shows but font and format seem to be lost. 3. Paging down seems to go to the next slide but not show it (escape key takes me back to Impress at a different slide selection). 4. Attempting to play a video file crashes Impress but it saved the files for recovery. 5. Picture slides are jpg files. 6. Video uses avi files. All I did was download and install v3.5.1.2 and the presentation now does not work. I have changed no settings during or since the update.
Even if you haven't the precise version code, could you tell if it was 3.3.X or 3.4.X ? Could you attach the file so we can try to reproduce and try to debug ? Finally, did you try to remove/backup your LO profile (~/.config/libreoffice, ~/.libreoffice, check both) ?
Hi Julien The version with which I created the presentation was 3.4.5. I did a system restore and reinstalled 3.4.5 and the presentation now works as it should. My apologies, I can't attach the file as it is nearly 50 megabytes plus further video clips not included. Please ask if you need more information. I noticed other bug reports which talked about version v3.5.1.2 not working with a graphics accelerator activated. I do not know if this is the case with my XPS but would not be surprised if it is so. Ok since it works for you now, I put this tracker to "RESOLVED/WORKSFORME". If you find another bug, check if it has been already filed (cf https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/query.cgi) if not, don't hesitate to file a new one (https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/) Thank you for your contribution.
Hi Julien Thanks for your reply. There might be a misunderstanding. My presentation now works again with version 3.4.5. I won't be upgrading to 3.5.1.2 until I know this bug has been fixed. Oups, you're right, sorry for the confusion. Now I can reopen it but I don't know how someone could investigate without the file. Would it be possible to put the file available somewhere ? (video clips aren't necessary if they're not included in the odb file). Sorry again for the confusion.
Please do not use https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/*, use https://bugs.freedesktop.org/* URLs instead.. Thanks Florian R.
We are having the same problem, for 1500 students, Windows 7 platform, Libre Office 3.5.1.2. Any graphics in presentations are lost on F5. Also weird fonts, as described by Andy. Regards, Bjorn
Forgot to mention, no sample document is needed. This bug can be reproduced by creating any presentation with graphics and pressing F5. Regards, Bjorn
Created attachment 61929 [details] Simple test which worked for me On pc Debian x86-64, with 3.5 updated today (so almost 3.5.4) (and a brand new LO profile), I didn't reproduce the problem. Could you give a try to 3.5.3 ?
No feedback since months so put it as WFM. If someone reproduces this, don't hesitate to reopen this bug and please, attach a file example.
