Hello

Steps to reproduce :
1. Open attached document
2. Tools> Word count
3. Click after "At nunc" then <Ctrl><Shift><Left>

Expected result : Words 1 & Characters 4
Actual result : Words 0 & Characters 0

4. Click after "At nunc" then <Shift><Home>

Expected result : Words 2 & Characters 7 & excludind space 6
Actual result : Words 0 & Characters 0

Of course same problems with <Ctrl><Shift><Right><End>

Platform : windows 7 64 bits & Version 3.6.0.0.beta3 (Build ID: 3e2b862)

[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice  3.5.5.3. Portuguese UI / German Locale [Build-ID: 7122e39-92ed229-498d286-15e43b4-d70da21] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) 

Simply click before first letter of an arbitrary document after you opened word count viewer, <shift+arrowright> several times. first letter of each word in selection will not be counted.
This problem only appears when you select with open count viewer, no problem when you open viewer after selection has been done.

Word Count problem not in Status Bar word count.

I do not reproduce with LO 3.6.0.0.beta3+ (Build ID: 6497a45) under Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64 with gnome-shell.

You should have specified your platform...

As shown in the new screenshot WordCount3643.png the problem is *not* resolved in Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff) for windows

However, it is solved with Version 4.0.0.0.beta1 + (Build ID: b0eb7231a9643d71be3125be7248c91242339ab) for windows

I guess we can indeed close the Issue, adding this precision for users of prior versions
