[Reproducible] with parallel installation of Master "LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ - ENGLISH UI / German Locale [Build ID: 747ecb]" {tinderbox: @16, pull time 2012-10-08 09:46:32} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with separate User Profile for Master Branch. Color for background area around check box and option box missing in printout (FreePDF), but shown in PDF export.
Reproduced with CALC / WRITER, others not tested.
Works fine for background color IN text box.

In WRITER background color is shown correctly in page preview , but not in print preview.
In CALC and DRAW background color is not shown in page preview, and not in print preview.
Impress not tested.

Already broken with LibO 3.3.3 and also AOOo 3.4.1 (only CALC tested), so problem seems inherited from OOo

nrbrtx@gmail.com: Could you test LO 4.0 and see if this issue is still valid?

Still REPRODUCIBLE with Server Installation of Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 8061b3e9204bef6b321a21033174034a5e2ea88e
CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI-Render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win, Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: CL | Auto Colibre Theme | Special devUserProfile (based on my normal one)
Has become worse, now checkbox background color will already be lost in print prieview and also pdf export

Additional info:
a) In PDF export the background color will be missing if in Menu
ˋFile → Export as PDF → Generalˊ checkbox "Create PDF Form" is NOT CHECKED
a1) So result of the export will not be a PDF Form with active checkboxes
a2) With CHECKED "Create PDF Form" the background of the checkbox will appear

b) So "somehow" the background is linked to the active Checkbox Function. A paper Print can not have an active checkbox, and so there can not be a background.

c) Bug or feature, that is the question here.
Comment 16 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2024-09-23 18:14:51 UTC
b1) The relation to Form option in PDF export also does exist in Writer and also
   affects other Controls than checkbox
d1) I see common behavior in Printer dialog of CALC and Writer:
in both the preview is without background for Checkbox
d2) I see a strange difference in behavior in
ˋFiele → Print Previewˊ between CALC and Writer:
    Writer: Background shown
    CALC: Background NOT shown
