Description Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2012-10-19 05:00:19 UTC
Steps how to reproduce with "LibreOffice 3.6.3.1” German UI/ German Locale [Build-ID: f8fce0b] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit):

0. Download Attachment 68763 [details] of Bug 56153
1. Launch LibO, open sample document from LibO Start Center file menu
2. Make comment in cell E7 visible with 'Contest Menu -> Show comment'
3. Save document as "sample363.ods"
4. Rightcloick Comment, context Menu 'Position and Size -> Callout Tab'
4. Click left 'Straight line', <ok>
   > Callout line becomes straight line, arrowhead shows to E7:F7
5. Save document as sample363a.ods, close document
6. Reopen sample363a.ods, compare with sample363.ods
   Expected: comment box in Cell A7 in both documents
   Actual: ample363a.ods shows comment box in A4

Additional strange effect:
11. Rightclick bomment box
12. Context menu 'Position and Sitze -> Callout Tab -> Angled Connector Line'
    <ok>
   Expected: arrowhead back to small commnet mark in E5
   Actual: arowhead shows down to E6:F6
13. save as sample363b.ods, close and reopen
    Expected: View as in step 12
    Actual: now arrowhead shows up to comment mark in E5

This one might be related to
"Bug 56161 - VIEWING: Comment formatting change from 'Straight Line' to 'Angled Connector Line' not visible"
and
"Bug 56153 - VIEWING: Hidden Comment box appears at default place and not at place to where moved with active 'Show Comment'"

Already visible with OOo 3.1.1, so inherited from OOo
Comment 2 Jorendc 2013-01-29 23:21:52 UTC
Can reproduce this behavior using LibreOffice Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: a2b651825926fd6d84073419d03a9808e284b48); Linux Mint 14 x64;

I think can't reproduce always the EXACT positions as you said (for example: comment is in E5, not in E7; position of the comment sometimes 2 rows above the cell you mention). Although it's still bad behavior.

Kind regards,
Joren

The point was:
Expected: comment box in Cell A7 in both documents
Actual: ample363a.ods shows comment box in A4

I still repro, except it shows in A5 for me.

Dear Rainer Bielefeld Retired,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
