Description Lenge 2012-10-30 01:49:07 UTC
The Windows installer usually remembers user-made selection or de-selection of the install options, and automatically pre-selects these in a later "modify" install or update.

However, there are a few options that are NOT remembered. The following options are always initially selected, even if they have been de-selected in the preceeding install:

1.) Extensions/Java-Scripting
2.) Extensions/BeanShell-Scripting
3.) Extensions/Python-Scripting

Not a big deal, but as all other options ARE remembered, I consider this a bug specific to the above options.

Marking as:

New (confirmed)
Trivial - not affecting much at all but inconsistent as the OP states so should probably be solved.
Medium - to be consistent probably good to have this done, also seems likely it's an easy fix

In order to limit the confusion between ProposedEasyHack and EasyHack and to make queries much easier we are changing ProposedEasyHack to NeedsDevEval.

Thank you and apologies for the noise

In the 4.3.4.1 release, the installer does not remember the "Quickstarter" option. If you run the 4.3.4 installer to update an older version (in which the quickstarter was de-selected), quickstarter will nonetheless be selected by default.

I have tested on a fresh Win10, using release installers of 6.2.1.2 and 6.2.2.1 to check Add/Remove and Upgrade scenarios. In all cases, all script providers (two for version 6.2: script provider for JavaScript, and script provider for BeanShell), and QuickLaunch, remember their unselected state.

Closing WORKSFORME.
