Working in a protected spreadsheet,
Open Styles and Formatting
Right click on cell style
Choose Modify ...
> Nothing happens
The least one would expect is that there is a warning for the reason that modifying is impossible because of the protection on one or more sheets.
related to Bug 57086
It was very difficult to find, why I can't modify style.
*** Bug 86010 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, here what I tried:
- Launch Calc with a brand new file
- Tools/Protect Sheet
- Let options by default and put a password
- Save the file
- reopen the file
- right click any cell to make context menu appear
- select Styles and choose any style
=> Popup error message:
Protected cells can not be modified.
Could someone give it a try with a recent LO version?
wi 10 Versie: 22.214.171.124 (x64
steps to reproduce:
1) open new file
2) make a second sheet
3) make sheet 1 protect
4) go to sheet 2 and open Styles and Formatting
5) choose a style in a cell
6) when you want to change the style, right click on cell style and nothing happens
7) go to sheet 1 and unprotect sheet
8) go to sheet 2 and do step 6 and now you can change the style

Where's is "Styles and Formatting" ?
Anyway, I could change the style of a cell in sheet2,
I couldn't on sheet1 where I got the error message quoted in my previous message.
I made the same test with LO Debian package 126.96.36.199 with gen rendering (to approach a bit Windows case)

When you are in sheet 2 choose "F11" and the Style formats open right in the window.
When you choose a cel style it is possible, but when you rigt click with the mouse and choose change style, there nothing happens. When sheet 1 is unprotect it is possible to change the style on sheet 2.

Ok I could reproduce this. There's also nothing displayed when trying on sheet1 whereas I should see it.
Thank you for your feedback (and your patience!)
