Bug

Hello,

when I import data (time) from notepad (copy-paste or open file with Calc) Calc doesn't recognise this data as Time format. Then I change this data to Time format in Calc, Calc change this data to Time format but add this "'" before time value. This is very annoying. I can't use functions because of this '.

Iztok

PS: Windows 7, Slovenian setting,

Have you try with Paste-special unformatted text, select the column clicking on the column head and after select the column type?

Iztok, can you please add some more detail so that someone can take a closer look at it?
What string are you pasting from notepad (just an example that proves the error)?
Thanks.

Sorry, I did not see your attachment. So you were pasting string "12:30:00" from Notepad and get "'12:30:00" in LO' text-box?

I tried this on OS X and typed same text into a Writer document and then tried pasting it into Calc (3.6.4.1). Got "2) 12:30:00" and that was because I firste typed manually string "12:30:00" at the end of a second list entry in an already existing text, than selected that with mouse and copy&pasting it into a Calc cell. This happened both with normal and format-less pasting, which means that copy does suck some kind of formatting info from the text as well.

When you pasted that was there some kind of apostrophe in your notepad text file?

No, no apostrophe in my notepad. YES "'12:30:00" was in text-box. This is strange. On my old laptop with OpenOffice 3.2.1 everything is OK.

I found work around for this problem. When you pasting text from notepad to Calc window pop up. Look attachment (work around) for more information. I have only Slovenian LibreOffice.

Hi Iztok,

First, thanks for reporting. Due the fact this isn't reproduced yet (although a try of miles), and you have a workaround, I hope you agree with the fact I mark this as RESOLVED WORKSFORME. If not, please feel free to mark this bug back to UNCONFIRMED.

Kind regards,
Joren
