Description j0n.nicc1701 2012-12-15 23:16:05 UTC
When I edit or create a document with images (.jpg), the images are not saved into the same place that I placed them in. Also, when the document is saved, the document will not re-save as it was. Images are important to those of us who use images to enhance our letterheads, and other documents.

Is it possible to give more information about what LibreOffice version you have, and what Linux distribution (+version) you use? Are these images copied from a browser (if yes, what browser)?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your response.

I am using Linux Mint 14 MATE,
LibreOffice Writer, 1:3.6.2~rc2
Images were copied from Google Images, using Firefox 17.0.1
Attached are the symbols I tried to use in creating a letterhead, so you
could give it a whirl.
Other symbols didn't work correctly, either. Making Business cards using
templates, messed up, also. Namely, The Linux Mint symbol.

*Sincerely,

Jon Niccolls

There really isn't enough information here for us to correctly triage the bug, what we need:

1. Reproducible steps (exact steps on how you see the problem)
2. A test document that you have saved along with a pdf print of the document prior to closing (so we can clearly see that the image has moved)

We don't know what format you're saving as (odt, doc, docx....etc....) and don't have the appropriate attachments

Just for what it's worth:

Attached you'll find a very simple test case where I inserted the lion image, saved as odt and opened it back up, it's in the correct location - no issues at all.

Marking as NEEDINFO - once you answer all questions, provide reproducible steps and appropriate attachments mark as UNCONFIRMED and we will try to reproduce.

Apologies for the long delay, our team is working hard to catch up on bugs and nicely reported bugs make our job a lot easier :)
