XPS for some time and is an open format, and although PDF format is widespread, XPS has certain advantages over it.

It would be very useful to export documents in that format.

setting status to NEW and changing version to "inherited from OOo"

no such format is available for export in OOo/LibO.

Yes, the Debian package of LibreOffice 5.1.0 still does not support the XPS format.

Change the sense of the original report in order to establish a better priority and usefulness to users.

The original bug report was about export, not import. PDF export is much more widely used than PDF import and I expect the same applies to XPS export, since XPS is used similarly to PDF by the sounds of it.

LibreOffice 5.4.2-3 from Debian testing (buster) (details below) cannot currently export or import XPS format documents.

The initial bug report talked explicitly about exporting not importing, so I've changed the bug topic to mention that too. At my workplace we would like import support only so I kept it in the topic.

The GNOME project libgxps is still available for applications that want to support the XPS format.

I suggest that you mark enhancement requests as never needing QA pings, presumably they are much less likely to just go away during the normal course of development.
