Problem description: There is no way for a persona designer to test her/his design before submitting it to the Mozilla group. The persona must be accepted by Mozilla and then be published. There are workarounds but, these involve working at root level (Linux) or finding the obscure location of the right file folder in windows. We should not be asking users to work at root level or having to hunt around for the right folders in windows. Expected behavior: It would be nice for the persona designer to be able to test out persona designs right from LibreOffice. Perhaps an extra option in the settings where you could load a persona from the user's local drive? Operating System: All Version: 4.0.0.3 release
This is enhancement so i set i to new
For everyone interested what the workaround is - put header.jpg file into /program directory of your LibreOffice install. This at least worked for my 4.2 master parallel installation on Windows 7. Logo was read and displayed when Pre-installed Theme (if available) was selected. Code pointers at http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/vcl/source/app/settings.cxx#792.
I use the Firefox Add-on Personas Plus to manage the personas stored on my system. The Personas > Custom Personas > Edit allows me to view the persona on Firefox with options and to change the text colour without uploading the personas to the Firefox website. When happy with my new persona, I copy it across to the LibO Personas folder with the default name header.png. Restart LibO and I am away. The Personas Plus Add-on gives a description of a good "nice to have" additional feature for LibO. Peter
