Created attachment 77315 [details] ODS document with chard representing the problem. Open the attached document. Select and copy diagram, open a new writer document, paste. Charts don't look not even similar.

Thank you for reporthing this bug, I can reproduce this bug running LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 on Mac osx 10.8.3. I also have changed the name of the bug.

Still reproducible on LO 4.0.4.1 (Win7 32bit). Similar to Bug 63017 (on XY chart), copying to Impress produces same result. -> so I think it should moved to component: Chart

Still an issue in version 6.0.2.1 (Build ID: 1:6.0.2~rc1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1~lo1) I would also argue it is potentially a major bug given it affects basic functionality and interaction within LO. Being able to update Calc and have linked charts in Writer docs automatically update would be a major productivity gain for multiple use cases. Anyone creating periodic documents based on updated data and analysis would only need to update the spreadsheet charts rather than then have to copy-paste each chart as bitmap. I would fund a bug bounty to see this bug squashed if it was possible.
