I had frequent issues of random crashes while using libreoffice writer. I cannot see any common feature that seems to cause the crashes, except for occuring after using features, for example I had a crash occuring when saving with ctrl+s and using ctrl+z functions. Most of the time the document recovery does a very fine job, but it draws down the overall experiance of using this otherwhise fine office-suite. I had a similar problem with previous versions, and the issue increased with 4.x versions of writer. My friend using 4.003 on Windows has similar problems. All the best, Jonathan Operating System: Linux (Other) Version: 4.0.2.2 release
Hi Jonathan, have you tried to reset the user profile, sometimes solve strange issues. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile What are you settings in Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice - Memory.
