Description kennedyd 2013-05-24 13:19:58 UTC
1. Open a dialog box in Calc and enter text over the default text.
2. Default text and entered text both remain visible in text field.

For example insert a new sheet and rename the sheet. Default sheet name remains when new name is entered.

New entered text is nonetheless effectively entered and displayed on new sheet.

N.B. I can only be certain of version to a resolution of 3.6. In general I am sorry to say due to this and other multipble libreoffice calc bugs I ditched libreoffice 3.6 on oSuSE 12.3 and now use Debian 7.0 and libreoffice 3.5.4.2 which is less buggy from my point of view.

[I appreciate you probably have resource problems and greatly appreciate the hard and good work you have all done. But I would suggest a few good quality releases are better than more lower quality releases.]

I cannot reproduce that problem. Works perfectly fine for me.
3.6 / 4.0 / 4.1 beta, on Ubuntu)

Do you have another example and / or a screen shot to point exactly to what is the matter?

Cor

Thank you for your reply.

This bug was present on libreoffice 3.6 under openSuSE 12.3. It was the
bug within libreoffice 3.6 that most affected me at the time.

There were however, so many bugs with 'calc' and 'writer' on our various
systems here that we removed openSuSE 12.3 because libreoffice 3.6 was
unuseable. libreoffice 3.6 was up to date and installed using the
standard openSuSE installation.

_I am sorry but I cannot therefore reproduce this problem or provide you
with screenshots._

If it is any help the calc spreadsheet that I am using is relatively
large (2.7 MB) with multiple sheets and graphics on each sheet.

We switched all the systems over to Debian 7.0 and LibreOffice 3.5.4.2
Build ID: 350m1(Build:2) which runs with relatively few problems.

With kind regards,

David.

yes please. If I cannot reproduce it, it may be different problems on the OS, user profile, ... ?
thanks,

In summary; we stopped using LibreOffice 3.6 in May 2013, because it was
so buggy that it was assessed as not fit for purpose. Please re-read
comment 2.

We are not able to re-install LibreOffice 3.6.

Thank you for replying.

kennedyd.
