Problem description: If I write a text and move in an almost written text the cursor from position a to b it occurs very often, that there is more then on text cursor at the same time on severel positions. I don't know, if this has something to do with the graphic card driver. I uninstalled the NVIDIA proprietary driver, but it's still the same strange behavior. I'm using Fedora 19. This problem wasn't present in Fedora 18. Steps to reproduce: 1. .... 2. .... 3. .... Current behavior: Expected behavior: Operating System: Fedora Version: 4.1.0.4 release
can you provide a screenshot of that?
Please, answer to comment #1 The current version of the 4.1 branch is now 4.1.1; could you update your installation and try again? You may want to test with the first RC of 4.1.2 too. It is available at http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/ Best regards. JBF
It seems that the reporter is not interested in providing missing informations. Closing as INVALID. Please feel free to reopen if you can provide a screenshot. Best regards. JBF
Created attachment 89045 [details] Short screencast of the Writer cursor bug (link).
I added an attachement, a short screencast of the cursor bug. But the file was to large for bugzilla, that's why here is only a link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/117872821/lo_writer_cursor-bug.ogv I can say, that this bug exists -- for me -- one year now with various versions of LO and with various Linux distributions. This is not a trivial bug, and if would be desirable, if he would disappear. (Maybe it's not a bug of LO itself, but a bug of the XServer, but he affects LO.) Best regards! P.S. A list, under which Linux distributions this bug occurs: Ubuntu 12.10 with Gnome 3.6: present Fedora 18 with Gnome 3.6: not present Fedora 19 with Gnome 3.8: present Linux Mint 15 with Cinnamon 1.8: not present Ubuntu Gnome 13.10 with Gnome 3.8: present
I revert status back to UNCONFIRMED because of reporter's feedback
Hi Mibu, have you tried the latest stable release of LO already? 4.1.3.2 that is currently: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ Also from the video I don't see any wrong behavior. I only see one cursor at any given time.
