after page number 99 follows 10_ ... for the next 10 pages then 11_. The final digit fails to display on page numbering above 99
Hi, Do you mean the page number display on the statusbar, or a page number field that you insert into a document? Also please attach a test document (and preferably also a screenshot), so we will be able to reproduce the bug. Thanks

@Ron: Thanks for the screenshot, but there is not much that can be done without an *actual* test document, so please attach one. Also - In the future please DON'T respond to the mail, use BugZilla web interface instead (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68446), thanks.
Comment # 5 on bug 68446 from Maxim @Ron: Thanks for the screenshot, but there is not much that can be done without an *actual* test document, so please attach one. Also - In the future please DON'T respond to the mail, use BugZilla web interface instead (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68446), thanks. You are receiving this mail because: You reported the bug. The bug is real .... I changed the document to pdf and it followed along with distorted page numbers after page 99. I am not willing to submit my lengthy and personal document to you at this time so if you are unable or unwilling to assist with this problem ???? Surely you could simply enter another document over 100 pages long to test this situation. Also .... my version is 4.1 .... I am not sure about the alpha designation. Ron
(In reply to comment #6) > Surely you could simply enter another document over 100 pages long to test > this situation. I forgot to mention that I've already tried this, but couldn't reproduce the bug, therefore I requested a test document. One thing I should note, that I've tried on Linux, while from your screenshot it seems that you're using Windows, so maybe it's Windows specific? Anyway I hope that tomorrow I'll get an access to a Windows machine, so I'll be able to test it.
Created attachment 84579 [details] screenshot with correct behaviour @Ron: Just tried under Windows, and I still can't reproduce the bug (see the screenshot). Could you at least inform which font do you use? Also, please try to reset you profile (as described at: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile), and report the results here. thanks.
Hi Maxim I went through my document changing as many obscure fonts as I could find then reopened the document in Libre office but the page numbers still don't show above 99?????? Remaining fonts include times new roman. Helvitica, Arial, Verdana, Tahoma and Georgia. All are included in the libre package. Admittedly it is possible that an empty space between text still has a weird font as they do hide themselves quite well. Any suggestions?? Ron
(In reply to comment #9) > Hi Maxim Hi, > I went through my document changing as many obscure fonts as I could find > then reopened the document in Libre office but the page numbers still don't > show above 99?????? I meant the font of the page number field itself, not of the rest of the document. > Remaining fonts include times new roman. Helvitica, Arial, Verdana, Tahoma > and Georgia. All are included in the libre package. It's not true, as none of them comes with LibreOffice. > Admittedly it is possible that an empty space between text still has a weird > font as they do hide themselves quite well. > > Any suggestions?? Yes: 1) Please follow my suggestion from comment 8, and try to reset your profile. 2) Would be great if you could provide more information, like: -Document format: Is it ODT or DOCX or something else? -Is this problem specific to this document, or you can reproduce it with a new document too? 3) I understand that you don't want to share your personal document, but you can remove all your personal data from the document, replace it with some junk, and upload here. Thanks.
Thanks Maxim The document was produced on MS office word 2003 .. it is a .doc I am running windows 7. Interesting to see that the actual page numbers cling to a font called arial unicode MS Attempts to change to Times New Roman appear to work on individual pages but when I double check them they have returned to arial unicode MS. Resetting my profile has been challenging as it proved impossible to locate in the usual places????? Ron

Good catch! It's a bug, I'll open a new bug for it, thanks. > Resetting my profile has been challenging as it proved impossible to locate > in the usual places????? Are you using the portable version? if so please see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#LibreOffice_Portable I have an idea about what causes your problem, and in order to see if I'm right, let's do some test: Open 'View' menu and uncheck 'Text Boundaries'. Does it now shows as '10_' on page 100 and above, or now it's only '10' without the underscore?
Hi Maxim I followed your instructions and unchecked text boundaries. No underscore appeared but the numbers are shaded somehow. Both digits in 99 are "highlighted" somehow and so are the 10 on the next page. Ron

Both digits in 99 are > "highlighted" somehow and so are the 10 on the next page. > > Ron OK, Here is my guess: By default Word 2003 inserts the page number field into a text frame. Maybe in your case the frame is too small to display 3 digits, so it cuts the last digit. You can try to resize the frame, by moving the mouse cursor to the top left corner of the shaded area, and click there once (WARNING: It's a bit tricky, so you should try several times). If there is a frame, you'll get green corner points, and you could try to resize the frame. If it refuses to resize, try to right-click, and choose 'Frame...' from the popup menu. You'll get a dialog, where you can adjust the size of the frame. Just uncheck the automatic width, and adjust the width. If this would not help, you can try also the suggestion from: http://ooo-forums.apache.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=56309#p247670 Anyway, Would be great if you'll attach some test document, so I'll be able to examine it, and stop guessing. Maxim
Hi Maxim Thanks for your help. That trick about expanding the box that the page numbers were in did it. Now if I can just get the spell check to stay in Canadian English everything will be perfect. Ron
(In reply to comment #15) > Hi Maxim > > Thanks for your help. That trick about expanding the box that the page > numbers were in did it. > Hi, I'm glad that it solved your problem, but unfortunately it didn't solve *our* problem, that in your case LO imported the frame with a wrong size. And since you didn't provide a test document, there is not much that can be done, because how the developers can fix it, if they can't even reproduce it?
