Created attachment 86006 [details] attached is an example file Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. Full background is a image 2. fill in text 3. generate pdf Current behavior: the text is behind the image Expected behavior: the image is front of the text Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.1.1.2 release
Not reproducible on LO 4.0.5.2 (Win7 32bit), using both Lossless & JPEG compression while exporting to PDF.
me neither with 4.1.1.2 under Win7 64bit try resetting your user profile. see link: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile
Clarification of reproduction: 1. background of the page has a picture of the whole area. 2. write any text in the document 3. in addition, an image with transparency insert, like a signature (gif, png)! 4. creating a PDF 5. confirm the dialogue that transparency is removed When you open this PDF in Acrobat Reader you can see the text only for a short moment. After completely loading the file the text an the image disappears. You only see the image from the background. This effect does not occur if no additional transparency image is inserted. Test with the example file.
@Günther Breitfuß I confirm that exporting your test file to PDF (without editing it) works fine on my PC. the PDF output is correctly shown by Acrobat 7.1 and Foxit Reader 5.4. which Acrobat reader version do you use? have you tried opening the PDF output with another viewer or in another computer?

I need Acrobat Reader XI. It's the same effect on many other computers (I test 4 pc's with win xp an win 7): writer-file with image (png) on full background as submission -> fill in a transparent grafic (gif or png) an optional text -> generate pdf (reduction the transparent ) -> on load the new pdf with acrobat you will see the background and the transparent image (and the optional text) for a half second, after only the background. > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > You are receiving this mail because: > > * You reported the bug. >
Please do not reply on the email you receive, but browse to the bug report itself, and leave a comment over there. (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69483) Replying to the email result in a lot of noise. Marking as UNCONFIRMED again. Kind regards, Joren
> 5. confirm the dialogue that transparency is removed this means checking the "PDF/A-1a" box in the PDF export dialog. cannot reproduce this on 4.1.1.2 or 4.2.0.4, both with PDF/A-1a enabled and disabled, on Linux when viewing the PDFs with Okular/Evince and "gv" (so 2 different PDF renderers) however i can reproduce the bug on current master, with PDF/A-1a enabled only the background image is visible in Okular and gv. but if Günther says it fails for him in 4.1.1.2 i'm wondering if it "works by accident" for me, if the XPdf/Ghostscript based programs are buggy, if the Acrobat Reader is buggy, if it only fails on Windows, or if there are actually 2 different bugs with the same effect...
oops now i realize my mistake: the bug happens on master only when both "lossless" images and "PDF/A-1a" are enabled... sigh... let's re-do this... ok this is broken in 4.1.0 release, in 4.0.0, in 3.6.7, in 3.5.7, in 3.4.6, in OOo 3.3, oh actually the newest working version is OOo 3.2.1. adjusting summary accordingly... well at least the work-around is obvious :)
If "Inherited from OOo" then not a regression (as defined here) Removing Keywords:regression

Now i tested the bug with libreoffice 5.1.0.3 1. page with background-image on full background (whole area, no frame) 2. fill in another image with transparency like a signature (gif, png)! 4. creating a PDF format PDF/A-1a (!) 5. confirm the dialogue that transparency is removed -> result ist a emtpty PDF! It works without PDF/A-1a.
Same test with libreOffice 5.0.4.2 -> the PDF is correct!
so, is the bug still present or not?
In LibreOffice 5.0.4.2 the bug is solved! In LibreOffice 5.1.0.3 the same test leads to a similar mistake (emtpty PDF). New bug at the same place?
weird... so FIXED in the 5.0.x codeline and regression in the 5.1.x ?
I think so ...
would you please upload an image with transparency so it's easier to us to reproduce?
Use the attached exemple-file. It includes a transparence gif (the signature). Export to PDF with PDF/A-1a and you get a empty PDF.

The big is still present. Tested with the attached test-file. File opened -> PDF export as PDF with PDF/A-1a (ISO 19005-1)-archive. Open PDF with Acrobat Reader shows a blank sheet. LibreOffice 5.3.0.3 Windows 10
(In reply to Günther Breitfuß from comment #21) > bug
thnaks for feedback but please do not change the version field if you don't know how it works. it has to indicate earliest version a bug appeared, not latest. reverted to inherited from OOo.
