Description Robert M Campbell 2013-11-25 14:04:09 UTC
With a fairly large spreadsheet, freezes when trying to change font of single cell, multiple cells, or entire sheet. Spreadsheet used attached.
Comment 2 Tim Lloyd 2013-11-26 04:08:51 UTC
Hi Robert,

I managed to modify the formats of several cells on different sheets. Fedora 20 - LO4.1.3.2. Then I could save and exit.

Could you recommend a cell to change/font to try?

Cheers

Ubuntu 13.10 with LO 4.3.0.0.alpha0+, Build ID: 979f05eee3dafba60f6b93744183035e9cc8be81

Actually, single cell worked for me this time. The problem reoccurred with column C selected. The font box goes blank (I assume that means multiple fonts used), and then when I try to drop down, it freezes.

Will need to check the latest git code and see if it still happens (it's been 2 days - and lots can change).

And just thinking about it, since I am playing with the master git code, is bug reporting the best place to document these issues?

AHA! Now we are getting somewhere.

Sheet1_6 Click on column C (with existing font type Lohit Hindi) and attempt to change the font. The application locks up with 99.1% CPU time BUT it does recover after about 30-60s.

Clicking on an individual cell does not replicate this.

When I click the font drop down after selecting C column in Sheet1_6, I get:

Assertion failed!

Dear Robert M Campbell,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

I'm not able to repro on a new sheet and I don't have access to the Google drive file. I'm using a debug build:

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: a1b0fc647d14dc36e9fe238d5bfc81ebcfa1d5dc
CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded

Marking as NEEDINFO
