Created attachment 90157 [details] the affected document I often use hyperlinks in writer-documents. Selecting these hyperlinks with the mouse leads in some cases to strange behaviour. If I select a whole hyperlink with the mouse, it works. But if I want to select only a view characters within a hyperlink, sometimes it doesn't work, so the characters aren't selected. Sometimes in the worse case the first of the characters, i want to select, is moved and dropped to that position where I stop to hold the mouse button. Operating System: Ubuntu Version: 4.1.2.3 release

It seems like there may be some problems with selecting single characters in a hyperlink using the mouse. This could be frustrating for users who need to edit hyperlinks frequently.I would suggest reporting this bug to the software developers so that they can investigate and resolve the issue.Check the following website to find the professionals.
With gen VCL plugin, click-and-drag inside a hyperlink consistently moves the whole hyperlink. With gtk3 VCL plugin, it is inconsistent: sometimes it selects text, sometimes it moves the hyperlink. Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: b83f069101f1e6d8aaac09a805f02bbc4c619e7a CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
(In reply to bordfeldt from comment #0) > [...] Sometimes in the worse case the first of > the characters, i want to select, is moved and dropped to that position > where I stop to hold the mouse button. That gtk-VCL issue was fixed in LO 7.1, see bug 116384. I think there might be two issues tracked here: - The inconsistent behaviour for gtk3 (which was a regression and got better since the fix in 7.1, but is still inconsistent in a current trunk build) - The inherited behaviour of not allowing selecting a part of a hyperlink (for other VCL plugins like win or gen), maybe what m.a.riosv sees on Windows? This is exactly what the duplicate bug 82700 describes - and is not necessarily seen as a bug by some.
