Example document with circles in a table

Hi,

I was drawing circles in a (voting) table and saved the file in .doc format (see attachment). Everything was looking okay in Writer, import and export worked properly. Next, I was sending this file to a friend who uses Microsoft Word 2007. He opened my file and all the circles were misplaced in the table.

Regards,
Ettore Atalan

Why should I retest my reported bug if no developer has worked on it in over 6.5 years because there is obviously no interest in fixing it?

I guess you reported slight move up in MSO. It's minor issue.
Anyway, this bug was wrongly confirmed, you need to attach source ODT.
Comment 13 Ettore Atalan 2021-03-19 20:34:00 UTC
There is no source ODT because this problem is related to a DOC file (already attached).

This is filesave bug. You attached Doc saved with some older Lo. It will always open the same with Mso.
Bug can only make sense and stay New if you prepare ODT which is wrong with current Lo when opening in either Lo or Mso. And which can be tested further.

Apart that bug wasn't reported well and that it's only a slight difference, for 6,5 years you must understand that Lo is volunteer driven. Meaning that you can fix it yourself, find or pay someone do it or just wait, some bugs get fixed in days, some not in decades, solely on dev interest.

note: ODT should be created from scratch,, not saving from DOC, just few items is enough of they show the problem.

What was not well reported about this bug?

Please create new .odt file (drawing circles in a (voting) table ) created in actual version of LO, the we can try reproduce the bug (export file to .doc and observe move the circle up). When I open your .doc file in LO 7.4, I see circles moved up (as on word printscreen). Thanks.

The bug report is from 2014. I do not assume that the LibreOffice developers are seriously interested in fixing this bug. So I don't waste any more free time on it and use OnlyOffice instead.
