Created attachment 97715 [details] spreadsheet which causes Excel to crash. attached Libre spreadsheet has multiple Charts. I have been unable to read it with any version of Excel using any file format. Excel crashes while attempting to open the Libre spreadsheet. no compatibility issues that I know of with Open Office.
I reproduce the crash under Win7x64 using Excel Viewer. @w08833 is just that test file that causes crash or any LibO .xls chart has the same effect?
this is the spreadsheet that I use most frequently. ---------- Original Message ---------- From: bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org To: w08833@netzero.net Subject: [Bug 77750] Calc charts in .xls cause Excel to crash Date: Sat, 10 May 2014 05:22:41 +0000 tommy27 changed bug 77750 WhatRemovedAddedStatusUNCONFIRMEDNEWCC markus.mohrhard@googlemail.comEver confirmed 1Comment # 1 on bug 77750 from tommy27 I reproduce the crash under Win7x64 using Excel Viewer.@w08833is just that test file that causes crash or any LibO .xls chart has the sameeffect? You are receiving this mail because: You reported the bug. ____________________________________________________________ Do THIS before eating carbs (every time) 1 EASY tip to increase fat-burning, lower blood sugar & decrease fat storage http://thirdpartyoffers.netzero.net/TGL3231/5373a86fee0e6286f5fb0st01duc

Created attachment 118193 [details] Issue not reproduced when document saved as XLSX Problem still present in Version: 5.0.0.5 Build ID: 1b1a90865e348b492231e1c451437d7a15bb262b Locale: es-ES (es_ES) on Windows 7 (64-bit) However, it only happens when we save the document as .XLS, not as .XLSX
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.1.5 or 5.2.1 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Yes, if you take attachment 97715 [details] and again save as .xls with LO master 5.3+ it crashes MSO. But this bug is not correctly reported and confirmed because it doesn't says how the test document was created in the first place, is it .xls saved from .ods or directly created as .xls, and with which LO version. The reporter should also try to create a minimal test version.
@w08833 Unless you provide a valid source document or better clear steps to reproduce a problem, this bug should be closes as Invalid. Please understand that there are many well-defined bugs waiting for volunteers to fix them.
