Description kolubat 2014-04-28 02:10:40 UTC
Currently, AppleWorks file format is listed as available for Word Processing. However, the Drawing & Painting file formats (presumably go to LibreOffice Draw), the Database file format (presumably goes to LibreOffice Base), and the Spreadsheet file format (presumably goes to LibreOffice Calc) are not available. It would be great to have these available!

All of them are supported by libmwaw 0.3.0, see https://sourceforge.net/p/libmwaw/wiki/Home/ . But at this point I cannot tell if this is going to get into LibreOffice 4.3, because it depends on a not-yet-released library.

Hello,
just a little more information, actually, LibreOffice 4.2 is able to open some Drawing & Painting files (but it converts them as Word Processing files) ; after the result of the conversion can be ok or not. Note also that for Painting, the converted bitmap has bad dimension (i.e. it must be rescaled a lot).

After in libmwaw-0.3, I have added the possibilities:
- to retrieve the main content of a Spreadsheet & Database file and convert then in a Spreadsheet file
- to convert the Painting files as Graphic files,
but this is another story...

Oh, cool! I made the assumption it would only open word-processing items because it only listed the file format under Word processing in the File opening dialog box. I look forward to whenever the new library makes it into LibreOffice, sorry for the irrelevant bug report! :)
