Writer is a very good application and I like it. One annoying thing, writer is unable to make a very basic flowchart. This is shameful for a so powerful and popular word processor. Making the connector tools available to writer will solve the problem for we already have the drawing bar there with useful tools. This enhancement will help those people willing to make a simple flowchart on the go avoid using both draw and writer. Notice: the connectors are present in draw and impress but they are not present in the tool bars personalization options in writer. could you make the connectors available in writer?
I can confirm there is no connector in writer. set to new. This is a feature request.
Hi David, For time being, pls use Draw with the extra qualities, and copy / paste to Writer (look in Paste special ...) thanks, Cor
Hi Cor When you receive a complex document (.docx) and want to add an element to an existing chart man need the connector. If not you will have to redraw the whole chart in Draw and import it in Writer with the risk of breaking something in the document. Let us imagine the waste of time if the original chart is big
Hi David, Yes of course I agree that this will be good to have. (It's my expectation that once all drawing functions are in line across Draw and Writer - which IIRC is something planned - it will be fixed automatically.)
thanks
Would be useful to know if this is an easy hack or not from the devs.
little clarification in summary, for in case someone only sees the summary, without the field component (e.g. in the mail notifications)
Seems the connectors split button (.uno:ConnectorToolbox) is also missing from Calc.

Still open, paste from Impress works...Could it be an easy hack ?

This sounds very good, I am the type of user who does not usually install impress / draw although I must do it for reasons like this.

Gulsah: interested in taking this one on?

Apparently still missing. Copy-paste from draw makes writer move all inserted connectors every time it opens the document.
In Libreoffice 7.3.5.2 Writer and Calc we still cannot create connectors. Apart from this I pretty much enjoy working with Libreoffice. Please include this feature in a future version, I think it would be really helpful for many users.
Not only the toolbar for inserting a connector is missing. A: When you have a drawing in Draw, where the connector geometry is changed away from default, and you copy&paste this drawing to Writer, the connector has a wrong geometry. The import uses the adjustment values as if they are given in Twips. It makes no different whether you select all shapes together in Draw or first group them in Draw and then copy them. B: A connector in Writer misses the "Connector"-dialog. That is ".uno:ConnectorAttributes". It is not simply missing from the menu, but it is not available in Writer at all. It should be in category "Format". I do not think that adding the missing functionalities is an easy hack.
