Description Eric 2014-06-07 23:35:15 UTC
Problem description:
There is no format option that allows sheets in Calc to have individual formatting. For example, I might want one tab to have a page size/orientation of A4 Portrait and the remaining sheets to be A3 Landscape.

This functionality is provided in Microsoft Excel.
Refer to bug 66619

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select a sheet by clicking on its tab
2. Format > Page menu
3. Select "Page" tab
4. In "Format" combo box select "A4" size
5. Select the "Portrait" radio button in the "Orientation" group
6. Select a different sheet and set Format = A3 and Orientation = Landscape

Current behavior:
The page size for all sheets is set to the settings applied.

Expected behavior:
Only the selected page(s) should adopt the new settings.

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.2.4.2 release

Hi Eric,

You can apply a different page style via Format > Styles and Formatting.
If needed, pls look in the Help or ask support from the users.

I thought we could send suggestion here as well. Afterall, when you click on Help menu, there is "Send feedback" which redirects here...

Yes, you can change page orientation through styles and formatting (1% of people find this obvious). But why not through Format -> Page?

This page, I expect: http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/feedback/ ?

You can do that, but that changes orientation of all pages at once. You can give each page a separate style, but then the next obvious question is: I want all my pages to be landscape?
Of course, current behaviour can be changed, but ATM I would not know why I should suggest to do so. Styles are useful at many fronts, so I always hope that people start to use them ;)

I've always thought of sheet as seperate page with different attributes... therefore, changing page orientation for current sheet should affect only current sheet. However, my point is that I found it difficult to figure out for the first time how to change it. I even thought this was bug... maybe we could put some note (description) when going to Format -> Page that users should use Styles to change page orientation for specific sheet?

Yes... when you write "enhancment" it is reported as a bug...

Note that the window says Page style..
But OK.

How about the current title of this issue?

Cheers

It's a good compromise... :)

Maybe help button that will lead to explanation how to apply styles could be added as well.

Anyway, I just figure out that all sheets are forced to have same headers and footers?
