This seems similar to bug 82064 when looking at strict xml vs the transitional xml. Some of the differences between strict and transitional include 1. transitional wraps <w:drawing> inside <mc:AlternateContent><mc:Choice Requires="wps">, while strict doesn't 2. transitional uses tags under <a:graphicData> that begin with '<wps:', while strict uses '<wp:' 3. transitional uses values like this <a:lumMod val="100000" />, while strict uses <a:lumMod val="100%" />
