Problem description: LO can create Text CSV (.csv) files correctly but has lost the ability to open such files; "Text CSV (.cvs)" is no longer is the list of file types which can be opened. Clicking (Double clicking) on the file name on the windows desktop (Context menu) brings up LO Calc but attempts to import as a text file and is incorrect. Drag and drop of a cvs file crashes LO and produces a following "recovery" loop Steps to reproduce: 1. Click on a .csv file in a windows folder or 2. Start Calc, click on OPEN, select the .csv file and attempt to change the file type to "Text CSV (.csv)" ... this file type does not appear in the file type list. or 3.Open Calc and drag and drop a .csv file. Crashes LO Current behavior: Unable to open .csv file as file type, "Text CSV (.csv) is not in the file-type list. Expected behavior: Drag and drop, double click on .csv file or OPEN with file type = "Text CSV (.csv) should open a csv file just as 4.5.2 and earlier versions did. Operating System: Windows (other) Version: 4.3.0.4 release Last worked in: 4.2.6.2 release

I'm using LibO 4.3.0.4 under Win7x64 and I see "Text CSV (.csv)" in the dropdown extension menu list of the open dialog. maybe you just missed it since the list is very long. try clicking "t" in that menu list till you see it. > 3.Open Calc and drag and drop a .csv file. Thanks, tommy27. I am running Vista Home x64 and definitely do NOT find "Text CSV (.csv)" in the dropdown extension menu list of the open dialog. However, I discovered the reason why I was unable to open the .csv file sucessfully; when I installed LO 4.3.0.4 last week the default Character set changed to Unicode (UTF-16) from Unicode (UTF-8) in previous versions. Changing to the latter allowed me to open .csv files successfully. I do not have a clue as to what UTF-7,8 or 16 means. "System" seems to work also Dick Blaine Cupertino, CA On 8/26/2014 12:52 AM, bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org wrote: > tommy27 <mailto:barta@quipo.it> changed bug 83069 > <https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83069> > What Removed Added > CC barta@quipo.it > > *Comment # 1 <https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83069#c1> > on bug 83069 <https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83069> from > tommy27 <mailto:barta@quipo.it> * > (In reply tocomment #0 <show_bug.cgi?id=83069#c0>) > > > >.... > > 2.
