Created attachment 105287 [details] sample document with the 3 paste options While i was checking MS Word, i noticed that in addition to the standard paste and special paste text with no formatting option, they also had a special paste text with destination document formatting option that they labelled 'Merge Formatting'. With 'Merge Formatting', pasted text gets that text styling according to the location of where you are pasting it into the destination document, and retains direct formatting things like bold, italics, etc. as well as indentation, bullet/numbering points, etc. I've included in the attachment a sample document showing the same text pasted with the 3 different options in ms word.
Hi Jay, Would make sense - sometimes. Nice enhancement.
Well i was checking out WordPerfect and they labelled this paste options as : Paste without Font/Attribute.
Isn't this enhancement request a duplicate of bug #42638? If so, then maybe the summary of bug 42638 can be improved.
Let we open this issue for the addition of such paste special function. Bug 42638 can be used for the "floating" menu idea.
