xls example

Open xls file.
Sort columns A and B together.
Libreoffice crashes and starts recovery process.

Windows 7 x64
Reproduced in build c4b15cd4d00dec6b266fa830b4ba73e31ae6ce73
Reproduced in build 958349dc3b25111dbca392fbc281a05559ef6848

This is a small subset from larger sheet.
Sorted correctly in all Libreoffice 4.2.5 and earlier versions.

I can highlight and sort the bottom 22 rows together and it is fine, as soon as I sort the bottom 23 rows or more it crashes.

If I do a save as on the sheet as .ods, close Libreoffice, reopen the sheet. It will sort without crashing. Then I can save as that .ods file back to .xls, close and reopen the new sheet and it will sort without crashing.

I can copy and paste the two columns from the attached sheet into a brand new sheet and save an .xls, close and reopen that new sheet and it will crash on sorting.

For the test, could you give a try to 4.3 daily build? (see http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/libreoffice-4-3/Win-x86@42/current/)
Indeed, this commit may help http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=c25ac84688b596b9990d382d550f0514161b78c2

Still crashes with daily build from link. Build ID: 958349dc3b25111dbca392fbc281a05559ef6848

Tried installing on a freshly reimaged Windows XP computer and sort crashed there also.

Should be 4.3.2, not, on the link in comment 2. I guess you're testing with 4.3.1 release, not 4.3.2 daily build.

I can reproduce on WIN7 LO 4.3.1, but can not reproduce with Version:
