Description ald 2014-09-04 01:40:00 UTC
Problem description:
I used to be able to change the color of the font to red, or something besides black, then check "shadow" and the shadow would appear as a grey/black color. The last couple of times I've tried to do this the shadow appears as the color I changed it to - this really reduces the usefulness of the program for making basic flyers.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select a line of text and change the color to a color other than black.
2. With the text highlighted, go to Format Menu, and click "Character."
3. Select Font Effects
4. Click on "Shadow" in the bottom left corner.
5. Click OK

Current behavior:
Shadow appears in the same color as the font.

Expected / desired behavior:
Shadow appears in grey/black.

I do not know when the change happened - it was within the last year that I made a flyer and was able to obtain a grey/black shadow with color font.

Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 4.2.5.2 release

I don't reproduce this on Win7x64 using LibO 4.3.2.2

try resetting your user profile (backup first) following instruction here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

also consider upgrading to 4.2.6.2 or 4.3.2.2

please give feedback

screenshot - NOT confirmed

I can NOT confirm this problem on my system. For me the shadow is in black even when the characters are coloured. See the attached screen-shot.

LinuxMint 17 Cinnamon
LO 4.2.6.3 Build id.: 420m0(Build:3)
Comment 3 Alex Thurgood 2014-10-14 15:31:26 UTC
Can not confirm on OSX 10.9.5 with LO
Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 7dc6c9af4ba313f054331f5130470d83d875bc16

Open Writer document
Type some text
select text, right mouse button click, choose Character in context menu, change font colour
In same dialog, click on Shadow property tickbox - black shadow produced.

@ald : Unless there is something different in what you are doing, I will close this as works for me
