Sample document made with LO 4.3 with a table with the cell background colour set

How to reproduce

1 Load the sample document. The background colour of the cell was set in Writer version 4.3 through Table -> Table Properties... -> Background
2 Go to Table -> Table Properties... -> Background, and try to change the Cell colour

Expected behaviour: The Cell colour changes after pressing OK

Actual behaviour: The Cell colour stays the same after pressing OK

Bug observed in Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 53425404ae70bf365073cce2f5d576b769446c97
on openSuSE 12.3 (64-bit).

Regression, because the expected behaviour is observed in:
Version 4.3.0.4
Build ID: 430m0(Build:4)
on openSuSE factory (32-bit)

and also in:
Version 4.1.6.2
Build ID: 410m0(Build:2)
on openSuSE 12.3 (64-bit)

OT: Man, this new colour picker is awesome!!!

Hi Stephan,

Thank you for the report.
I confirm your observation with LO 4.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 5aeb852efcabdd51545d5d41c92f4bf3cef1d663
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2014-09-08_07:01:57
& Windows 7 Home Premium

This works in LO 4.3.1.2

Regards,

Jacques

I have observed similar behaviour in Writer 4.4 but when creating a new document with a new table. The steps I took:

1. Open Libreoffice Writer 4.4
2. Insert a table
3. Select 1 or more cells and try to change the background colour

Nothing happens. If you just have the cursour in the table cell and set the background colour the background is changed (with white border) but if selecting the full cell or multiple cells it does not work.

If anyone thinks this is a different bug to this one, let me know and I will open up a new bug report.

I confirm the bug in the case of a new file.
I think it is probably the same bug as the one for existing file.

I stumbled upon this problem in OOo 4.2 and also here, so I did some more tests with Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 0b3b907e96a8bbc477b8755a5bcffc350c53ce2b
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2014-09-16_05:01:30

I compared contents of "content.xml" in a document with a single cell table
a) before any background applied
b) Background to cell applied in AOO 4.1.1
c) Background to cell applied in LibreOffice 4.4.0.0.alpha0+

In the affected document source code area I can not see any difference between "a" and "c". So the problem seems to be in UI: Apply Background color dooes nothing. I see this problem for "Apply to cell" and "Apply to Row", but "Apply to Table" works fine.

comparison content.xml

In attachment relevant content.xml source is listed for
c) correctly applied background (Works fine AOO 4.1.1)
b) No Background with LibO 4.4
a) Source Document before any attempt to apply background color

Cells with yellow background in spreadsheet differ from it's right neighbor cell

Looks like a duplicate of Bug 82555. Anyway seems to work with today's master (abc22a091c27b92c5b20964375098faa11d3546e).
