Description Axel Niedenhoff 2014-09-29 14:08:11 UTC
Searching for a font size does not work when the manual font size happens to be the same as the one set by the style. A step-by-step procedure will make this clear:

* Create a new document in Writer. I assume that your standard font size is 12 pt.
* Type “Test Test Test”.
* Manually assign a font size of 14 pt to the middle “Test”.
* Invoke the Search and Replace dialog.
* Select to search for the font size attribute.
* Run the search. This will highlight the middle »Test«.
* Dismiss the Search and Replace dialog.
* Manually assign a font size of 12 pt to the middle “Test”. (Not by undoing, nor by removing manual formatting, but by selecting a new font size.)
* Invoke the Search and Replace dialog.
* Run the search again. (The attributes flag is still set.) LO does not find the manually assigned font size attribute.

To verify that the manual font size attribute is actually there, go to the right edge of the middle “Test”, hit Enter, type something like “Title” and assign a parapgraph format of Title to this new paragraph. It will use a font size of 12 pt.

please define exactly which flags do you mark to reproduce the isse.
I see "Other options" and then "Attributes" and "Format" buttons.

In the “Find & Replace” dialog, under “Other Options”, click “Attributes…”. In the dialog that opens, select “Font size”.

The bug is still there (LO 5.0.4.2, RHEL 6.7).
Comment 6 Timur 2016-01-11 16:29:24 UTC
This never worked fine. OO would finally find only the middle »Test«. Current behavior is from 4.3.

Yes, this is still the same for LO 5.3.2. (Tested with Linux 64 bit.)

Confirm that described behavior is found in 7.2.0.0.alpha0+

and can also confirm that the middle TEST has direct character formatting.

Additional information.

1. If Asian languages are selected in Tools-Options-Languages, then "Size of Asian font" appears in the Attributes list, and with this Attribute selected, the middle TEST is found.

iow, it seems that the "Size of Asian font" is implemented correctly,
while "Font size" does not "notice" the direct formatting when the directly applied font size is the same as the style font size.
