I filed a bug report about Auto Correct maybe ten minutes ago. I am MORTIFIED that I cannot reproduce the bug. 

I had stated that Auto Correct, applied after typing, would convert straight quotes to curly quotes in non-portable version 4.3.0.4, but it would not do so in portable version 4.3.2.2

I have just tried to apply Auto Correct to a long document in non-portable 4.3.0.4 and it no longer corrects the straight quotes. I promise it worked half an hour ago! I remember running a short test case so that I could note down your exact menu names etc. I am at a complete loss. I am a programmer, so I am used to taking care about these things.

PS I have just noticed that Bug 67194, which I raised in July 2013 about this very problem, has not yet been assigned to anyone. This is proof that I must have been dreaming. And yet...I saw what I saw. What can I say? I was so chuffed, too.

I think you refer to Bug 84530

so there's no need to open a new bug report telling that the other one is not anymore reproducible, so I'm closing this as INVALID

please go to Bug 84530 and set status to RESOLVED WORKSFORME if you still think that is was a wrong report and you don't see the issue anymore
