bug confirmed under Win7x64 in LibO and Version:

same issue with OOo 3.3.0 and AOO 4.1.0 so it's inherited from OOo

This is NOTABUG.
That slightly grayed out font that you see while in the word processor is just a visual cue that what you are looking at is in a header.

When the document is printed out (or when the header is being edited) then the transparent effect is removed. LO just doesn't have such a non-WYSIWYG approach to the header, and always displays it using it's actual values.
