Description mehmet.yavuz.selim 2014-11-21 09:56:50 UTC
To reproduce:
* Create new spreadsheet with auto calculate setting on.
* Ensure that range A1:A10 contains values 1 to 10.
* In B1, enter formula =SUM($A$1 : $A1)
* In C1, enter formula =MAX($A$1 : $A1)
* In D1, enter formula =MAX($A$1 ; $A1)
* Drag copy (not sure how is that called) B1 to range B1:B10. The formulas were copied correctly to the other cells, but all cells have the value of 1. F9 or crtl-Shift-F9 does not help.
* Do the same for C1. It shows the same problem.
* Do the same for D1. It does not have this problem. Maybe because the formula does not contain a range?
Comment 1 mehmet.yavuz.selim 2014-11-21 09:59:35 UTC
Forgot to include the last step:

* save file and reopen => the formulas are not evaluated correctly
Comment 2 A (Andy) 2014-11-22 22:58:08 UTC
For me not reproducible with LO 4.4.0.0.beta1 (Win 8.1).

On which operating system have you reproduced this?
Comment 3 raal 2014-11-23 14:01:08 UTC
I can confirm with Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha2+
Build ID: d273a60bfdbf9bb7623bed38667ec0647753157c
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2014-11-20_03:05:21

Comment 5 mehmet.yavuz.selim 2014-11-24 05:41:30 UTC
Correction of comment 1. It should have been "save file and reopen => the formulas are *now* evaluated correctly" instead of "save file and reopen => the formulas are *not* evaluated correctly"
Comment 6 mehmet.yavuz.selim 2014-11-24 05:44:11 UTC
I reproduced on Windows 7, x64.
Comment 7 mehmet.yavuz.selim 2014-12-03 10:36:11 UTC
I made a new build from git trunk (revision 975a054cc2eeb04516f1f1ef3c9064b2f3cd9456) on Windows 7. I could not reproduce the issue there.
Comment 8 mehmet.yavuz.selim 2014-12-10 05:46:14 UTC
I updated libreoffice. I can't reproduce the issue any more. For me the issue can be marked as solved.

Version: 4.3.4.1
Build ID: bc356b2f991740509f321d70e4512a6a54c5f243

Closing as worksforme. Thanks for the test.
Comment 10 mehmet.yavuz.selim 2015-02-24 08:21:00 UTC
I reproduce the issue again.

Version: 4.4.0.3
Build ID: de093506bcdc5fafd9023ee680b8c60e3e0645d7
Locale: nl_BE
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1
Comment 11 mehmet.yavuz.selim 2015-02-24 08:28:33 UTC
Not sure it would change anything, but I had reinstalled the OS. Maybe some LibreOffice setting was changed in the mean time?

This time, saving the file and reopening does not help. The values are still incorrect.
Comment 12 Robinson Tryon (qubit) 2015-03-05 20:16:29 UTC
(This is an automated message.)

LibreOffice development currently prioritizes bugs with the so
called MAB (most annoying bugs). As this bug has not run
through that process (including writing a short rationale for
this bug being a candidate and other who are watching the
tracker bug silently approving that rationale etc), its priority
is set to high. Note this is effectively no change in the
urgency assigned to this bug, as we are currently not making a
difference between high and highest and severity is untouched.

You can find out more about MABs and how the process works by
contacting the QA Team on IRC:

http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

The QA wiki page also gives you hints on how to get in contact
with the team (if IRC fails you, your next best choice is the
mailing list):

Cells in columns B and C are not updated correctly

To really update the cell content, only this works with me:
* start editing the existing formula (from formula input box or inline in the cell)
* do a small change in the formula text and undo. For example, add a space, then undo by pressing backspace or ctrl-z.
* press enter

Tricks like copy(or cut)-pasting cells (inside the document or to a new document) did not help.
Comment 14 GerardF 2015-04-08 18:01:11 UTC
This is caused by spaces surrounding the separator :
Comment 15 mehmet.yavuz.selim 2015-04-08 22:46:56 UTC
Thank you very much, GerardF. Indeed, when I remove the spaces around the : in cell ranges, then all works fine.

I think we can close the bug then.
Thanks Gerard for resolving.
