I noticed several anomalies when viewing the attached .pptx file. I am using Normal view, read-only mode, side windows not displayed. My comparison is Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 (11.8335.8405) SP3 1. On several slides, such as 5, 6, 7, and 8 an "Insert..." box appears in the middle of the slide. This obscures content. 2. On slide 16, text is hidden behind an image. In PowerPoint, the image background is transparent allowing the text to appear. (In PP, if I click on the image, the image box overlaps the text, yet the text still appears) 3. On slide 17, text has a blue background. In PowerPoint, the text background is transparent allowing the background image to appear behind it.

TESTING with LO 4.4.0.0.beta2 + Ubuntu 14.04 (In reply to Rich Wilson from comment #1) > an "Insert..." box appears in > the middle of the slide. This obscures content on slide 1 and others. On Slide 1 there's an element "Outline Text 'Content Placeholder 2'". It appears to be empty, and if you delete it, the Insert box goes away. > Text obstruction appears on slide 9: > text is hidden behind an image. Looks like we've got font-substitution for Calibri on that slide. (Carlito is a metric-compatible substitute, and we do ship it w/LO, so the layout shouldn't be affected). > In PowerPoint, the image > background is transparent allowing the text to appear. (In PP, if I click on > the image, the image box overlaps the text, yet the text still appears) The image does not appear to have a transparent bg to me. Exporting it, it appears to have a solid white bg, so perhaps PP is converting the white to alpha? > Blue background appears on slide 10 > text has a blue background. In PowerPoint, the text > background is transparent allowing the background image to appear behind it. The BG is definitely not transparent in LibreOffice. When I select the blue table and Right Click -> Table, I can't get the dialog to ever come up (it appears to hang). The devs may want to break this up into multiple reports, or there may be an underlying issue that's affecting both slides 9 and 10. Status -> NEW

Correction: After a couple of minutes, the dialog will eventually appear/render fully. But it's verrry slow :P Whiteboard: perf

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! restested under Win8.1 x64 using LibO 5.3.6.2 and 6.1.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 075b5ad5bdd230738ee30b0ea17a7fa9502c218b CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3; UI render: default; TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:master, Time: 2017-12-22_00:40:12 Locale: it-IT (it_IT); Calc: group threaded two issues still remaing unchanged: 1- presence of "insert box" in the middle of slide 1 and 4 2- text obstruction by image white background (I suppose it was meant to be transparent) in slide 9 probably is better to split this bug into 2 separate reports, each one addressing a single issue at once.
Bugzilla is "issue based", so a single issue must be pointed at, after a search for not being a duplicate. Bugzilla is not "document based", like "this document doesn't display nice".
