When cells have hidden (i.e. "Show Comment" off) comments *and* option "Format"->"Page"->"Sheet"->"Print: Comments" is on, a printout shows footnote-like lines at the page bottom but no visual cue appears in the corresponding cells. This is annoying as it forces to also print row/column headers in order to see which cell a comment refers to. I suggest to print a superscript in the affected cells referencing the proper comment line -- a global option might then allow rendering of cell comments as footnotes in printouts.

Sounds like a good solution (to just have the comment indicator printed is not sufficient). System-defined footnotes may not work with special font settings, col filling numbers, and likely result in other wishes. But we should soft-pedal the rarely used and simple feature. Sp +1 to the idea.
