Description Matthew Francis 2015-01-13 06:37:54 UTC
(Split from bug 56279)

Merging Calc cells doesn't offer any option to retain comments other than those in the first of the cell range.

Steps to reproduce
1. Open the attached sample spreadsheet
2. Separately merge the highlighted ranges A4:B4 and B6:C6
(The choice "Should the contents of the hidden cells be moved into the first cell?" is offered, but makes no difference)

Expected results
- Both comments are retained

Actual results
- Only the comment for B6:C6 is retained

(The question then arises of what to do if more than one cell has a comment. Possibly just merge them into one comment?)
