Description k-j 2015-01-26 07:25:29 UTC
After installing 4.4.0.3 on WIN 8.1 64bit LibO is starting at the first time. I can work with it and open a document etc. But after closing LibO I can't start it anymore. Even after restarting the whole OS it doesn't work.
Repairing won't help.
There is no problem with 4.3.5 which I reinstalled afterwards.

After writing to de-discuss someone gave me a hint:

Deleting the user directory and repairing the installation will help.

Now it seems to work.

But I think it is a bug which will hit many users with 4.3 or earlier.

The solution won't help for a long time.
After opening a file from Explorer Libo went on shortly and vanished.

I give up and install 4.3.5 again. This works fine here.
(By the way no problem with a WIN10 VM and 4.4.0.3)

I didn't see any such problems on Win 7 or 8.1 yet.
Comment 4 Lukas Jelinek 2015-01-29 21:41:14 UTC
I can confirm the described behavior on Windows Vista 32-bit. The application window appears but has no content (isn't painted at all). LO 4.4.0.3
Comment 5 Lukas Jelinek 2015-02-01 19:24:40 UTC
I made some additional tests a found the cause of this problem. It appears only if "Use OpenGL for all rendering" is enabled.

Used system configuration:
- Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit
- GPU NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
- NVIDIA graphics driver 340.52
- default driver settings
Comment 6 Lukas Jelinek 2015-02-03 12:48:34 UTC
The same as above applies for:

- Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64bit
- GPU NVIDIA GeForce 210
- NVIDIA graphics driver 311.06
- default driver settings

Ok, I can reproduce now here: WIN 8.1, 64bit GEFORCE GT 650M, NVIDIA graphics driver 327.02:
the problem exists when the "Force OpenGL even if blacklisted" is enabled.

@Beluga: Why are you changing the title again?
1 It is reproduceable.
2 It is my bug. So when I change the title back, I can expect, that you ask me or even you give a comment here why you think that changing the title in your way is right.

Sorry to all, I should have searched for a duplicate.

Note from Markus Mohrhard in the comments of bug 87673:
"Don't use that setting right now. We have horrible issues with memory corruption and race conditions."
