Description bugzilla 2015-01-30 17:12:51 UTC
A spreadsheet I last edited with no problems in 4.3.5 crashes 4.4 every time I try to open it. The file is available on request, but I prefer to not post it publicly on the web.

File that reproduces crash

Personal information has been stripped with 4.3.5, and the problem still reproduces in 4.4.0 for me.

After your last comment, I tried opening the file on another computer with 4.4.0.3 and it opened for me as well. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling 4.4.0.3 on my main computer (where it causes a crash) and the problem persists.

This would appear to only happen on a subset of computers (only mine?). If someone feels like this is worth investigating, I have Visual Studio 2012 installed (I am a software developer) so I could debug the issue if I had guidance from someone who knows the code base.

How about if you preform a parallel install on the main computer?
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel

That will give you some assurance that your per-user profile is not involved (or is the problem if it opens).

I did a parallel install of 4.4.0.3 and it opens the file with no problem, so it appears to be something in the profile. Any thoughts on how to proceed from here?

I tried uninstalling again, and the LibreOffice folder is gone from both "Program Files (x86)" and "Program Files (x86)\Common Files" (perhaps it never installs anything there).

On Windows the user profile will be the C:\Users\<yourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice directory. Simply delete it, or rename it if you want to save anythng out of it.

Setting this Resolved Works for me... feel free to reopen if you have additional insight.
