Created attachment 113071 [details] test .pptx file From at least 4.3.3.2 and still present in 4.4.0.3 Problem description: FILEOPEN, VIEWING Opening a .pptx file that contains slides with notes and comments (inserted with MS PowerPoint) will result in the slides with the comment not displaying either the slide or the notes in note view. Slides without a comment display the slide and notes just fine in note view. Deleting the comment does not result in notes displaying. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the .pptx file in attachment. 2. See the result in notes mode: slide 2 will display neither slide nor notes in note view. Slide 3 without a comment displays notes just fine Current behavior: No slide image displayed in note view if slide has comment Expected behavior: slide image displayed in note view if slide has comment Comment: this is a collaboration blocker for me and so I must work in Windows
Reproduced. 3.5.0 shows the 3rd slide as blank, too. Win 7 Pro 64-bit, LibO Version: 4.4.0.3 Build ID: de093506bcdc5fafd9023ee680b8c60e3e0645d7 Locale: fi_FI Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 99c00b090533da9818444be2831b8da0e713e5f9 TinderBox: Win-x86@62-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2015-02-04_06:38:53 Locale: fi_FI Ubuntu 14.10 64-bit LibreOffice 3.5.0rc3 Build ID: 7e68ba2-a744ebf-1f241b7-c506db1-7d53735
Bug remains in Version: 5.0.0.5 Let me re-iterate - any notes present on a slide with a comment box are not visible under any of the available views. If comments are used by collaborators using MS Office, then a LibreOffice user is unable to function with such .ppx files.
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.1.5 or 5.2.1 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! I have this problem in a much later version of Impress, namely 7.3.5.2, running on Linux Mint. So, it appears that this rather serious problem has resurfaced! (It is a shame, particularly, because, in other respects, I was pleasantly surprised how well Impress handled my PowerPoint file).

Then please open a new report for your problem.
Thanks. Yet, before I create a new bug bug report, please tell me the following (for, I am having trouble finding this out). When all works as it should there is a way in which when presenting one sees the notes on one's own screen (as against on the medium being projected upon). What is that way? I _do_ see the view when I enter the special 'note' view, but that view is not open when I am actually giving the presentation.

You may be referring to Presenter Console (Options-Impress-General-Enable Presenter Console) that is normally available in Impress with 2 monitors, and with some hack with a single monitor only.
