Bug demonstration with elements for reproduce

Perhaps it's a Draw/Impress bug,… but the problem is seen in Writer.

With Version: 4.4.0.3
Build ID: de093506bcdc5fafd9023ee680b8c60e3e0645d7
Windows XP SP3 ans Windows 7 home edition

Steps to reproduce :

- Import or copy a bitmap in Writer in page 1
- In Impress or Draw, import or copy a bitmap and apply a free rotation.
- Copy and paste it in Writer on page 1
NB : be sure the first image is not selected

Result :
The copy is postionned IN the first bitmap.

Idem with :
Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 1845b6af3991ca5521eef48aafe1d0489e2ff8f6
… 4.3 and 4.2
Idem with AOO 4.1.1

Result OK with LibO 4.1, and inferior

NB : If the file created with LibO 4.4 is open with LibO 4.1 and inf. or OOo., ... the two bitmaps are separated.

Reproducible with LO 4.4.0.3, Win 8.1 with the attached sample file, but I could not yet reproduce it with a new file. If tried it with a new file and the rotated image was inserted but not visible only after changing to Anchor as Character. I could not yet figure out why it was different in the sample file and in a new file.

When the image is paste and invisible, you see de ??selection marks?? (green square) ?
If yes, try to move it over the first image and you'll see it was paste in it.

I just to retry with two smaller image and it's what happened.

reproductible with :

Version: 4.4.2.1
Build ID: 93fc8832889bf050a10ec6d0171dae213adc9b55

On XP Pro SP3

finally...

Workaround:

- In Impress or Draw, import or copy a bitmap and apply a free rotation.
- right-clic => convert => to  Metafile
- Copy and paste it in Writer

Dear Denis RADWAN,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa
