Description Nick Levinson 2015-02-23 00:58:15 UTC
A keyboard equivalent for the option to Match Case would be a time-saver. I suggest alt-M or alt-C.

My hardware description is a guess.

set the desired keyboard shortcut settings LibreOffice.

it is not a bug and not a wish, and reluctance to use the simplest things in the program

"Match Case" is not on the list of shortcuts. It is not customizable.

Please see above paragraph. I'm setting this back to UNCONFIRMED.

I'm pivoting this report a bit :)

I noticed in 4.5 the "M" of "Match Case" is underlined, indicating that "Alt-M" should activate it like in menus and dialogs.
"Alt-M", however, does nothing.

I'm setting this to NEW.

It should be noted, that there is a design team proposal to make the Match Case option a button: bug 81740 (thanks Octavio for the find).
Yet, perhaps that future button could be shortcutted.

I don't want to upgrade to a version not provided by my distro, openSuse 13.2 in evergreen mode, but I have LO 5.0.4.2 and tested Writer with a new document, both unsaved and saved, with a string of letters. I tried to find one or another of those letters, with case matched or not, with the Find's Match Case option visibly supposedly operable by alt-m, but alt-m did nothing. Find worked, but not the option unless I manually checkmarked it with the touchpad.

My distro includes LO 6.2.7.1, I keep my distro evergreen, and you're still offering 6.2.7 along with 6.3.1. The problem in 6.2.7.1 is the same.

Dear Nick Levinson,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
