==this is an enhancement request== Problem description: It would be really handy, apart from having the option Search for Styles in the Search and replace dialog (Edit menu), to be able to search for specific styles directly from the Styles and Formatting panel at the sidebar. Steps to reproduce: Open the Styles and Formatting panel at the sidebar (F11) Select a paragraph style. Current behavior: If, once the style is selected, I want to highlight the instances where that style is applied throughout my document, I must open the Search and Replace Dialog, check the checkbox Search for styles, select that specific style and click on Search all. Expected behavior: It would be really handy to have an item on the context menu, when right-clicking a specific style from the Styles and Formatting panel at the sidebar (apart from New, Modify and Delete) like Select, which would do the same as the Search for styles function at the Search and replace dialog (highlight all instances of that particular style throughout the document). An alternative would be to add that same item (Select), instead of at the context menu, at the top icon (still at the Styles and Formatting panel) called New style from selection, or next to the paint bucket icon. Thank you
I send this to the design team for evaluation and potential confirmation.
This was actually mentioned at the design hangout two weeks ago.
We're replacing our use of the 'ux-advise' component with a keyword: Component -> LibreOffice Add Keyword: needsUXEval [NinjaEdit]
The current 'Styles and Formatting' deck is meant to apply a style. Overloading it with a function to search in the document for the selection likely ends up in a mess. We better go ahead with a dedicated deck for search, as requested in bug 95405. The current workflow WFM.
