The additional frame property

frame => options => properties

and the setting (refer to screen 1)

disable: print
enable: block absorbing/ incorpoating text (writeability)

would amend, in a most simple way, a use case for (mis-) unsing the existing frames functionality to display some kind of 'layout region' to the user.

Regarding 'regions' would have no effect with regard to writing to/ writing through the main document section and no effect with regard to printing (refer to screen 2).

The functionality could ease the superscription of any re-occurring 'on-paper-forms' when using LibreOffice in the office and help to visualize such 'on-paper-forms' to the user.
