In LIBREOFFICE 4.4 DRAW I feel a lack of brushes, pens...
Changed title and set as enhancement. Inkscape has this: https://inkscape.org/en/doc/calligraphy/tutorial-calligraphy.html
While brushes sounds like going towards raster graphics or making Draw a tool for artists, this would be a great feature with much more benefit.

Inkscape can apply any image as brush to a freehand drawn path [1]. And I can load the SVG into Draw as well as export and load the odg. Sounds like no need to enhance ODF. I would rather add the brush as another option to the line setting with a couple of presets and the opportunity to enhance with any shapes. What am I missing, Regina? ODF provides all what it needed. The result itself is a draw:path element and svg:fill-rule exists. But LibreOffice needs a lot, especially svg:fill-rule="nonzero" is missing.
Could be an interesting GSoC project.
