Description Howard Kaufman 2015-03-17 13:57:51 UTC
Mac OS X 10.10.2
LO 4.4.2.1 (and previous version)

Any new document created cannot be saved to the desktop. It can be saved anywhere else though. Also - if saved elsewhere, then SAVE AS... can save it to the desktop. SO only new documents fail. Affects all document types.

If attempt to save to Desktop, you see the Save dialogue but immediately goes to spinning beachball. Only way out is to Force-Quit.

Thanks!

Howard Kaufman

@Howard : does your document contain any particular, special objects ?

I can save any document type from LO to the Desktop folder with the versions I tested above.
Comment 4 Howard Kaufman 2015-03-17 18:34:48 UTC
More info: I've now tested this on 2 user accounts on the same computer. Turns out that it's only a problem in my "normal" user account. The test account I created does not show this problem. So it seems that something I've added to my normal account is causing this. I see now a secondary odd behavior: every time I open LO and create a new document, Safari immediately begins to download the LO installer. Just started happening yesterday. So I obviously have some investigating to do. Up until this weekend LO was acting normally. I don't recall installing or changing anything at that time, but perhaps I'm just not remembering. If I can find the culprit I will report back. Thanks to those who responded!
Comment 5 Howard Kaufman 2015-03-17 18:36:26 UTC
@Alex - no special characters at all. It happens even with a blank document or a document with a single word or character.
