The read-only mode toolbar warning appears correctly, but the message itself is unreadable as the meesage box is not tall enough for the text contained within it (see screenshot).
Running 18.104.22.168 from manually installed RPMs on Fedora 21 Gnome on a 4k Hi-DPI screen @ 3200x1800 resolution with a GNOME pixel scaling factor of 2 (org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 2).
For me not reproducible with LO 22.214.171.124, Win 8.1

Note: Jan is using a 4k monitor.
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Now I tested on a 4k screen with scaling factor of 2 and there is no problem.
