Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a blank Writer document
2. Save the document
3. Close the document by going to File > Close


Current behavior:

The document closes down but Writer also shuts down.

Expected behavior:

The document closes down and Writer stays open.

The issue also occurs with Calc and Impress.

Environment : 
              
Operating System: Windows 8.1
LibreOffice: 4.4.1.2

Reproducible with LO 4.4.1.2, Win 8.1, but from my point of view this is no bug, because of course WRITER is closed, but you then get to the LO start center.  I think this behaviour was intended.  But it would be interesting to see what LO UX team members and other users think, whether they also think that WRITER should stay open.

Thanks for your reply.

In my version of LO (4.4.1.2 / French), I do not get the LO start center though so I had to start Writer (or Calc or Impress) again.

What do you mean by "Writer stays open" ? Writer is not an independent program, it is only a function of LibreOffice.

When I close the last open document (whatever its type) LibreOffice returns to the StartCenter. It is the intended behavior, other behavior is unintended thus a bug.

Hi, 

Ok now I return to the Start centre when I close the last document in LO and only one single application is open in LO. The issue with me was that I was working with several applications at the same time and everytime I closed the last document say in Word, Word closed down. I guess from what you're saying, this is not a bug then.
