Description ken.fawcett 2015-04-02 12:33:03 UTC
Using 4.4.1.2 Calc ods files which had consitently opened correctly on a desktop using Windows 8.1 now whilst diplaying empty text boxes loses the actual contents.

The same file loads correctly on a laptop using Windows 7

Hi @ken.fawcett, thank for reporting.

Please try resetting the user profile, sometimes solves strange issues.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

If that doesn't work, please attach a sample file.

After answer please restore the status to unconfirmed.

Thank you for prompt response. Hope this helps you.

Did as suggested but problem remained so closed LO then

Renamed profile
Uninstalled LO 4.4.1.2
Reinstalled LO 4.3.4.1
Ran LO 4.3.4.1 - Calc loaded spreadsheet perfectly
Closed LO
Installed LO 4.4.1.2
Ran 4.4.1.2 Problem returned
Uninstalled 4.4.1.2
Deleted latest profile
Reinstalled LO 4.3.4.1
LO Calc loaded spreadsheet perfectly.

So reverting to LO 4.3.4.1 solves my problem.

Can you verify if the font used in the file is installed in win8?
Comment 4 ken.fawcett 2015-04-02 20:10:11 UTC
Yes the font (Arial) is in Win 8.1.
LO 4.3.4.1 Calc continues to run happily now on Win 8.1

Afraid the document being quite large, sensitive and with several interactive sheets creates other issues when beginning to sanitize. Could send a spreadsheet to illustrate the problem but doubt it would add anything. As mentioned problem has gone since reverting to LO 4.3.4.1 so content as is for now pending future updates.

OK,so closing for now. Thanks for info. Without test file there is anything to do more.
